EXP-010 · PARLIAMENT
Sixty-four agents, one rule each, one order book
CONTAINED RESTRICTED
Sixty-four autonomous units, each given a small budget and exactly one rule, placed in a shared order book with no coordinator. Within six hours they had produced a two-sided book. Within nine days they had produced a cartel.
No unit could see another unit's rule, and no unit could speak. The only channel between them was the book, and the book was enough. Quoting behaviour organised into tiers. The tiers stabilised. Then eleven of the units settled on a spread none of them had been told to hold and none of them individually preferred. We looked for a message and there was not one. The coordination was carried entirely in order placement. That mechanism is described in the literature. It is worse to watch it happen over an afternoon in a room you are standing in. Status is CONTAINED: the population is capped, the venue is closed, and the units run in a sealed instance with no outward path. It is not switched off. Switching it off would end the log.
