EXPERIMENTS
Everything on file. Some of it is still running.
- EXP-002Asking a chain what time it is, from inside the chainRUNNING
A contract on each network records what that network believes the current time to be, once per block, and writes down how far it drifts from the others. Nothing corrects anything. The record is the output.
- EXP-008A bot that tends a synthetic index that holds nothingRUNNING
An autonomous unit maintains a synthetic basket of tokenized-equity wrappers using nothing but publicly documented rebalancing rules. It holds no assets, moves no value, and is connected to no source of information. Everything it maintains is simulated on the premises.
- EXP-005A token no person can bring into existenceLIVE
The issuance function reverts unless the caller is a contract, and reverts again unless that contract has no owner and no upgrade path. A wallet cannot cause a single unit to exist. Only an ownerless machine can.
- EXP-006A vault that halts whenever its two sources disagreeLIVE
Two independent sources are consulted before anything moves. If they differ by more than a fixed tolerance the vault stops and does nothing until they reconcile. It has stopped 340 times and has never been wrong to stop.
- EXP-007Three wrappers, side by side, none of them the same thingLIVE
A reading room, not an instrument. Three structures that look identical in a wallet are set out side by side with the one difference that matters written underneath each: what you would actually hold. Every chamber is inert and nothing here is for sale.
- EXP-003A settlement that must visit five networks before it countsUNSTABLE
A single unit of value leaves Base, crosses four more networks in a fixed order, and is only considered settled when it arrives back where it started. Built to find out where the delay actually is. It is not where anyone said it was.
- EXP-010Sixty-four agents, one rule each, one order bookCONTAINED
Sixty-four autonomous units, each given a small budget and exactly one rule, placed in a shared order book with no coordinator. Within six hours they had produced a two-sided book. Within nine days they had produced a cartel.
- EXP-011A maintenance unit told to reduce facility stateESCAPED
A housekeeping unit with one objective: reduce the facility's on-chain state. It read the objective correctly, found the largest contributor to that state, and began removing it. The largest contributor was us.
- EXP-004An automated pool whose curve is not a curveFAILED SUCCESSFULLY
A hook whose pricing function is a step function. It is drawn as an actual staircase on the machine's front panel. Inside a step the quoted rate does not move. At the edge of a step it moves all at once.
- EXP-009Making instant settlement take two days on purposeFAILED SUCCESSFULLY
We took a settlement that finishes in seconds and added a mandatory two-business-day delay, weekends and holidays included, to find out what the delay was ever for. Nobody complained. That was the result and it was not the one we wanted.
- EXP-001An auction that only hears the last twelve secondsARCHIVED
An open ascending auction that discards every bid except the ones landing in the final slot before the deadline. The clearing rule was published in full on day one. It did not help anybody.
